some in Washington have come out of their slumber. They’re going to
href="http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPrint.asp?Page=\Politics\archive\200106\POL20010607a.html">return
the government surplus to the people that paid the taxes in the
first place. Somehow they managed not to write in provisions that
would just “re-distribute the wealth.” President Bush said, “If you
paid taxes, you’ll get a refund.”
But some, including myself, think
href="http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPrint.asp?Page=\Commentary\archive\200106\COM20010607a.html">the
tax cut wasn’t structured in the right way. It won’t stimulate
the economy right away, most of the cuts won’t take effect until
just before they’re scheduled to expire. Go figure! The only way
to give the American people the tax-cut they deserve would be to
eliminate
href="http://www.townhall.com/columnists/michellemalkin/printmm20010531.shtml">wasteful
government programs, starting with the Department of Education.
The most laughable part of this whole thing is that
href="http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPrint.asp?Page=\Politics\archive\200106\POL20010606d.html">some
greedy states, want to take part of our refund checks. Guess
they’re mad about the repeal of the estate tax.
