Status Quo
Republicans snagged the Senate, but does that mean anything
will change? Probably not. It’s not the revolution we need to
take America back.
One thing that will change is control of the Senate Judiciary committee. Patrick Leahy, the Democratic albatross, will no longer control this important committee. Leahy overstepped his Constitutional boundaries when he delayed and obstructed the confirmation of Bush’s judicial appointees. I suppose the chairmanship will go back to Orrin Hatch who will speed up the judicial confirmation process.
Some advice to President Bush: Make Charles Pickering and the other rejected judges recess appointments. Then in January, the full Senate will have to vote on them. It’ll save a lot of time the Democrats have wasted.
