Maybe that should be a Plymouth Fury instead. You know “God drove the man out of the garden in a fury.” (Genesis 3:24)

Emphasizing the Constitution

New High School Curriculum Emphasizes Constitution

[Topic: Education] CNSNews.com: “ As part of a mission to develop in young Americans what President Ronald Reagan called “an informed patriotism,” the non-profit Bill of Rights Institute is set to unveil a new curriculum for high school students this fall, emphasizing the principles of the Constitution. The Virginia-based institute, established in 1999, aims to educate high school students and teachers about our country’s founding principles through programs which explore what the nation’s first leaders said, what their documents communicated and how these ideas affect our daily lives and shape our society, according to Victoria Hughes, institute president. “We believe that informed patriotism depends upon the knowledge of our country’s founding principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights,” Hughes told CNSNews.com.

Environmental Whackos XLIX

Two Enviromental Whacko stories for y’all today. This first one speaks for itself.

Flush Toilets Called ‘Environmental Disaster’: “Forget the convenience and sanitation of the flush toilet, which industrialized nations have enjoyed for most of the past century. A growing number of environmentalists are now advocating the expanded use of compost or dry toilets worldwide to combat what they see as an international water crisis. Proponents of dry toilets, set to convene at the first annual international Dry Toilet 2003 conference in Tampere, Finland, August 20-23, warn of “environmental disaster” if developing nations aspire to flush toilets so prevalent in the industrialized world. Critics of the upcoming conference say the widespread use of dry toilets in the developing world is nothing more than a “celebration of primitivism” and call the flush toilet the “greatest public health advance in the modern era.”

Why do they think “dry toilets” will work in developing countries? I guess they’d rather have open sewers running alongside dirt roads into the same river people get their drinking water from. Developing countries will never be able to find the money to buy these “port-a-johns.” Are they willing to privately fund one toilet each for every village in Africa? I don’t think so.

Students Who Pray

1st Amendment protects students who pray

[Topic: Education] src="http://www.trommetter.org/log/archives/topiced.gif"
width="87" align="right" border="0" />“The U.S. Department of Education has released guidelines, based upon the “No Child Left Behind Act of 2001,” that require the Secretary of Education to issue guidance on constitutionally protected prayer in elementary and secondary schools.

The next time some government agent at a public indoctrination center tells you your child can’t mention God in school remind them of this. Students are allowed pray at graduations, football games, final exams, etc. Students are allowed to sing songs that mention God at concerts and graduations. Don’t let a public shool principal tell you any different.
