Abortion Tragedy

Life

The “right to choose” takes over a million human lives every year here in America.

The recent tragedy in Santa Monica, California is still tough to come to grips with. An elderly man, losing control of his vehicle and running down pedestrians at the farmers market, killing ten and seriously injuring many others.

In his first public statement, the driver, Russell Weller, states he is heart-broken over the extent of the tragedy. And surely it is easy to see how devastated this poor man must be. And certainly the families of the victims must be just as devastated as well.”

You’ve got to read the entire article at Intellectual Conservative, I can’t add anything to it.

Ethical Stem Cells

New Bill Would Increase Nation’s Supply of Cord Blood Stem Cells

[Topic: Life] Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) “— Longtime pro-life Congressman Chris Smith introduced new legislation yesterday that will significantly increase the nation’s inventory of stem cells obtained from placentas and umbilical cords.

Such ethical alternatives to embryonic stem cell research have been proven to successfully treat a number of life-threatening diseases.“

It would be great if they could pass a law like this. I’m normally against bigger government in any form, but this is one case where things could be done much better on a federal than a state level.

Our second baby will be born in February and I’ve been thinking that we need to investigate banking the baby’s chord blood.

Good News for Life

Amid heated debate, abortion rates drop

[Topic: Life] Contra Costa Times: “Nakeisha Martin never wanted to be a single mother, a statistic, someone who works long hours while others take care of her children, as her own mother had done. She had plans, places to go.

It didn’t matter anyway: She had a medical condition that she thought prevented her from having children.“

This is good news and it should be good news to pro-choice folks too. Don’t they always say they want abortion to be safe, legal and rare?

Safe and Legal?

Abortion Practitioner Who Locked Up Woman Still on the Run

[Death!] Valdosta, GA (LifeNews.com)” &mdash Valdosta police are still searching for abortion practitioner Charles Rossmann more than two months after he disappeared following criminal abortion charges.

Rossman is being charged in this and two other cases where women were mistreated. He is accused of inducing labor on a woman 31-weeks pregnant and abandoning her in his locked office.“

Stories like this are exactly why I’m so much against abortion. The mantra of the pro-abortionists is “keep abortion safe and legal.” Well, it’s legal right now but it’s not so safe all the time. I thought the abortion business was all about choice? Sounds like this woman wasn’t given much of a choice.

Geek Fashion

[Topic: Blogathon 2003] I’ve needed a new wallet for some time now, but I was too lazy to go out shopping for one. ThinkGeek is one of my favorite places to shop, so I went over there and found a duct tape wallet. Strange, but I just had to have one. The ultimate in geek
