Wrongful Birth, Again

Justice Life Wrongful Birth Lawsuit in California Concerns Doctors, Pro-Life Groups

The parents of a disabled girl have a filed a lawsuit against their obstetrician saying they would have considered aborting her if they would have been told about tests that could have detected her spina bifida in the womb.

The first time I heard about this ridiculous kind of lawsuit, I was disgusted. Scientific advances in pre-natal testing have made this kind of lawsuit increasingly common. I think it’s disgusting. How does that make a child feel when their parents are saying "We would have killed you if we knew you were going to turn out this way"?

No amount of money is ever going to make this child whole. The parents must be very cold-hearted to think so. I’m sure there are lot of people out there who would agree with my assessment. Including Gianna Jessen.

  • Things like this make me want to take the time to be a judge — so I can tell people who try these stupid lawsuits where they can go.

I’d be a good judge. “What’s your case? Sorry, you’re an idiot. Go away. Next case?”
