Phantom Fury
A full-scale U.S.-led assault on Fallujah appeared to be underway Monday, after Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi declared a state of emergency following failed attempts to persuade religious and tribal leaders to prevent terrorists from using the city as a staging-post for attacks.
I know what the headlines are going to be in the liberal media broadcasts tonight. "Why didn’t Bush do this before the election?" They think if Bush had done this two weeks ago, he would have lost the election.
They’re wrong. The President ordered the attack now because he waited for the current Iraqi government go give him the green light. There’s also the matter of giving the civilians a chance to get out. We want to minimize civilian casualties and that’s why we waited.
President Bush is steadfast. He doesn’t take a poll before ordering an attack.

Uh…no. Actually, some of us are concerned that he postponed it for political reasons. Some of us are concerned the he might have put American military lives in jeopardy by postponing it so it didn’t hurt his campaign. I’d be interested in see a link to the proof that he waited for the Iraqi government to give him the go ahead.
