Wipeout!

I’ve been having a lot of fun with my new DCR-DVD7 DVD Handycam Camcorder. It’s great because it records directly to a mini-DVD which can be finalized and played in a regular DVD player. You can also transfer files directly from the camera to your computer. They come in as MPEG files that can be edited and manipulated by programs like Microsoft’s Movie Maker. The video quality is good, but the still pictures are only 640×480. (But that doesn’t really matter because I also have a Sony Mavica FD200 which takes 2 mega-pixel pictures.)

My latest creation is a short video titled "Wipeout!"

Thunderstorm over Chesapeake Bay

It was almost time for school to dismiss and a mother noticed it looked like rain. So she drove toward school to pick up her eight-year-old daughter.

She turned down the street to see her daughter running towards her down the sidewalk. A lightning bolt flashed and the little girl looked up towards the sky, smiled and then began running towards her mother’s van.Another lightning bolt flashed and again the little girl looked towards the sky, smiled and resumed running. This happened several more times until the little girl finally arrived at where her mother was parked.

Her mom immediately inquired as to the strange behavior. "Why did you keep stopping and smiling at the sky," she asked her daughter.

"I had to, Mommy. God was taking my picture."

High Cost of Driving

With gas prices soaring higher than a 747 jet, everyone is looking for the cheapest gas. Some people have changed their driving habits. Fortunately, I don’t have to drive very far on a regular basis. My office, church and grocery stores are all within a 5 mile radius of my house.

But for those of you in South Carolina who have to drive further every day, check out South Carolina Gas Prices. Lowest gas I’ve seen in Greenville is at BJ’s at $2.31.

Dishonoring His Memory

Cindy Sheehan is dishonoring the memory of her son.

As she continues her anti-war protest, Cindy Sheehan is labeling President Bush a "maniac" and a "lying bastard," and she’s vowing not to pay her federal income tax.

I really think it’s a shame that Ms. Sheehan is painting her son as a victim. He died voluntarily serving his country as a hero. The rest of her family has pleaded with her to stop her protest.

Sheehan has already had her meeting with President Bush — last year. At that time, she didn’t express the anti-war sentiments she’s expressing now. Somehow the MoveOn.org crowd or some other moonbats got a hold of her and turned her into a poster girl for the anti-war movement. That’s a shame.
