Munford grads go in prayer

Snip: Most of the audience stood, bowing their heads. Then, most of the 286 graduating seniors pulled out laminated bookmarks and folded up pieces of paper that they had been given earlier and began reciting “The Lord’s Prayer.” Students said beforehand that they knew that the moment of silence would be their chance to speak. Once those in the audience realized what the students were doing, they broke into wild cheering as the silence in the football stadium was broken by the verses of the prayer.
()() Chalk another one up for students rights and a victory over the ACLU.

Now, I know Jason will say that I dont have faith, so I lack the magic decoder ring to the bible, but it seems clear to me that engaging in pep rallies for Jesus is clearly condemned in this and many other parts of the bible.
Funny thing is, had Muslims prayed or people had booed this violation of federal court decisions, the people here would be outraged and proclaiming how persecuted Christians are.
As for this being a victory over the ACLU, again, I already debunked the myth of the ACLU being anti-Christian, so do find a new boogeyman.

The ACLU’s support for free religious expression is inconsistent at best, so let’s just leave it at that.

The History “expert” is only quoting half of the passage to the congregation. In Matthew 6:1-5 Jesus is talking about the Saducees and Pharisees who had people play trumpets and then pray loudly before they put their monetary offering in the box outside the Temple.
The students at Munford did exactly what the Lord commanded them to do in Matthew 6:7-15.
