I’ve never had sex with a liberal

15 Jun 2006 at 5:18am

Snip: During the course of Leno’s questioning of Coulter, he asked her, “Have you ever had sex with a liberal?”

When Coulter responded, “No,” Leno said, “Really? You should try it. See what it’s like.”

“I’ve read about it in Esquire,” responded the author.

Party of rapist proud to be godless

15 Jun 2006 at 5:14am

Snip: I thought I’d put off that column on ethanol subsidies I’d been planning to write this week and instead address the topic that has so riveted the nation — the hot new book “Godless: The Church of Liberalism.” First of all, I’m getting a little fed up with people trying to make money off my book. Worthless little cable TV shows with teeny-tiny audiences, ridiculous legislators and tabloid newspapers are all trying to make a name for themselves off the profundity of “Godless.”

The wedding wars

15 Jun 2006 at 5:12am

Snip: I happen to be of two minds on the [gay marriage] issue. On the one hand, I am a traditionalist. I believe in marriage between a man and a woman.

A strong argument in favor of gay unions is that it would benefit the economy. More marriages means more engagement rings, wedding gifts, bachelor dinners, floral bouquets and, inevitably, more work for divorce attorneys.

Something that I do resent about this entire issue is that it’s been pushed by gay activists, and when conservatives push back, liberals demand to know why those on the right insist on focusing on minor social issues, instead of concentrating, as they do, on Iraq, the economy and Al Gore’s marvelous impression of Chicken Little.

As someone with strong libertarian leanings, I don’t really care what anybody does so long as it doesn’t infringe on my constitutional freedoms or my satellite reception. So if two men decide they want to pledge their troth, I figure it’s none of my business, so long as I don’t have to dance with the bride.

My recent interview with Al Gore

15 Jun 2006 at 5:08am

Snip: Dr. Adams, I would first like to thank you for taking the time to do this interview for my second documentary — one that deals with the rise of the religious right in American politics.

The Democrats’ failing script

15 Jun 2006 at 5:07am

Snip: The past two weeks have been rough on the Democratic Party. A script that has focused on President Bush?s unpopularity, the Iraq War and ethics violations has not had the effect that party leaders were hoping for. The first script failure came in the June 6th election to replace jailed Republican Congressman Duke Cunningham. The Democrats labeled this race as a strong indicator for the upcoming November elections.

The Bloggers’ Favorite Southern Baptist

14 Jun 2006 at 2:22am

Snip: The upset victory of a non-anointed candidate to lead America’s largest Protestant denomination signals the growing power of online activists, even in old-line churches.
