Why is Rosie defending this filthy terrorist?

I know for certain that Mohammed would not defend Rosie’s “lifestyle choices.” So why is she defending him?
Rosie O’Donnell, hosting ABC’s popular “The View” morning show, came to the defense of terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed today, suggesting the government elicited a false confession from the 9/11 mastermind by using torture, robbing him of his humanity and treating him like an animal.
A transcript of Mohammed’s confession to 31 terrorist attacks was released today, but O’Donnell argued it came only after having a “hood on his head and being beaten to death.”
Sometimes Rosie can be a real idiot. She shoots off her mouth without thinking.

Seems that a prominent conservatives are also doubting Mohammed’s confession as well.

What is KSM’s motive for lying? He’s confessing to crimes that could carry the death penalty. Why would he do that if he wasn’t involved?

Let’s assume your question is not rhetorical and you genuinely want to know why anyone would be “defending this filthy terrorist.” I say “anyone” because Rosie is not exactly my own model for behavior, intelligence and lifestyle – but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
This is not about her. It’s about us. She is not “defending this filthy terrorist” – she is defending your rights and mine against stupid and unproductive barbaric practices that will eventually reduce us to the level of the very people we are torturing. A major casualty of this illegal war has been our own self-respect and our justly famous trust in the values expressed in our system of laws, starting with the Bill or Rights.
I feel it necessary to state that I am an American, father of 5, grandfather of 6, a Korean vet and a former journalist. At one point in life, I spent three and one half-weeks in a third world military prison, abused and tortured for knowing something that embarrassed a few slimy officials. Until you experience something like that you will never truly appreciate, to the level I am at, of how sacred our laws are and how privileged we are to live in society where respect for the individual makes such abuse a crime.
Freedom and justice are only as good as what you are willing to share.
As the Bible says, before you criticize the mote in someone else’s eye, be aware of the beam in your own.
