Why Boys Fail (Book Review)

A few weeks ago I blogged about a book titled “Why Boys Fail.” It’s an interesting read. I have a kindergarten-aged son and I’ve seen some of the same things happening in his classroom that Richard Whitmire writes about.

In the introduction he writes about a small school in New Mexico where half the boys were labeled as “special education.” I find that disturbing and Whitmire does also.

“When I looked at these boys they didn’t seem like special education students.” ~Paul Ortiz, teacher

My son’s kindergarten had 16 boys in his class and the teacher labeled eight of them as trouble-makers. (TJ was included in that group.) That mis-characterization became a real problem for our family and we eventually made the hard decision to pull him out and home school for the rest of the year.

Liberals love to boast that they are not “religious,” which is what one would expect to hear from the state-sanctioned religion. Of course liberalism is a religion. It has its own cosmology, its own miracles, its own beliefs in the supernatural, its own churches, its own high priests, its own saints, its own total worldview, and its own explanation of the existence of the universe. In other words, liberalism contains all the attributes of what is generally known as “religion.”

What a great start to what I’m sure is a fantastic book. It’s already a best-seller at #36 on the Amazon.com book charts. I’m going to order my copy today, but probably won’t get a chance to read it until I’m on vacation near the end of the month.

You can read the entire 1st chapter today on Townhall.com.

Libertarianism 101

Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My BedOr maybe this book is even more basic than a 101 class. A book that all Libertarian parents must read to their children.

“It tells of two brothers who open a lemonade stand,” continued Limbaugh. “Their plans to save up their hard-earned profits to buy a swing set go awry when a Ted Kennedy character taxes away their profits and a pants-suit clad Hillary Clinton look-alike outlaws sugary drinks.”

Rush Limbaugh has been talking this book up on his radio program and it’s shooting up the best-seller charts like a rocket. We’ve had enough Liberal/Democratic brainwashing in our schools, now it’s time to fight back. Start with “Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed.”
