I believe government should not be in the business of picking the winners and the losers.
Tax breaks for anybody, whether it’s big oil companies or “green” manufacturers, should not be in our tax code. We need a flat tax.
Government should not be regulating “swipe fees.” Any regulation in this area picks one business, either the banks or the retailers, as the winner.
Subsidizing corn farmers (who produce HFCS and ethanol) makes them winners over those who grow sugar cane.
None of it makes any sense in what is supposed to be a capitalist economic system. If we end this business of picking the winners and losers, there won’t be a need for the campaign reform suggested.
