Beyond Stem Cells

There are other more promising treatments

Despite
the high profile that Nancy Reagan and others have given the idea of
using embryonic stem cells to treat Alzheimer’s disease, advances are likely to come faster from other approaches.

This
article comes from a publication that doesn’t have any particular bias
on the abortion issue, one way or the others. Notice, they don’t hold
out much home for stem cell treatment of Alzheimer’s right now. I don’t
know why Nancy is using her husband’s death to advance a line of
research that’s not very promising.

Some Experts Doubt Existence of ADHD

CNSNews.com: “ Australia is grappling with the debate over attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and the drugging of children diagnosed with it. One U.S. doctor says there is no proof ADHD exists at all. Australia is one of several countries to follow the U.S. trend over recent decades. U.S. psychologist Dr. Bob Jacobs told the Youth Affairs Network Queensland conference that doctors and pharmaceutical companies had turned behavioral problems in children into a disorder. He voiced concern that misdiagnoses resulted in youngsters being prescribed powerful drugs like Ritalin, which may affect their long-term mental and physical development. In a radio interview afterwards, Jacobs – who is on the advisory board of the International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology – said his conclusions had been made as a result of his own observations during many years in practice, working with children and families.

I’m glad to see some scientists are starting to doubt the lies told by the drug companies. You know how the ADHD diagnoses was invented? A bunch of drug company execs were sitting around a room saying, how can we sell this drug? They came up with a new “disease” which has no clear diagnosis.

The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNLWD) under Marine Corps command is developing high-tech weapons that take us toward the phasers used on Star Trek. Some of the weapons include active-denial weapons that heat water molecules in the outer skin and cause debilitating pain, and veiling-glare lasers that will blind enemies by making their eyes glow.
