Victory Valley

I gave my 5th Toastmasters speech today. I’m halfway to my CTM! "You can’t ride in my little red wagon" turned out to be the perfect thing for me to display vocal variety in my speech on "Victory Valley."
New Words and Senses

The Merriam-WebsterCollegiate online dictionary has a sampler of some of the new words and senses
added to the eleventh version of their dictionary. I scoured the list
for some new words I could use for ToastMasters word of the day, but
couldn’t find anything a lot of people could use.

Grandpa Evans

My fourth Toastmasters speech was about "Grandpa Evans." I was able to stay within time, got a few good laughs (read the speech, you’ll understand) and was even voted best speaker of the day by my peers.
