Jan 2002-Present Ahold Information Services Greenville, SC Senior Developer	Business Systems Services. Support various applications at all Ahold Operating Companies. Working on AIX systems using C, Oracle, Shell scripting and Perl.
Apr 2001-Sep 2001 Lowe's Home Improvement North Wilkesboro, NC Contract Programmer	Special Order Sales, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) This project is written in C on AIX Unix. It uses a Sybase database. Working to improve the process of sending special orders to outside vendors.
Nov 2000-Apr 2001 Check Solutions Charlotte, NC Contract Programmer	Check Image Enterprise Archive (CIEA) is a system for processing and storing bank check images. It gives banks a way to store and retrieve archival information for research purposes. My work on this project is to support the use of new model drives for tape export out of CIEA. This software is written in C++ on AIX Unix.
Mar 2000-Oct 2000 AT&T Greensboro, NC Contract Programmer	Information Provisioning Platform (IPP) is a central data warehouse for AT&T Human Resources. It provides data to many AT&T business units and some external companies that need human resources information. System is NCR UNIX and uses an Oracle database. Most of the software is written in Kornshell and PL/SQL. IPP also provides production support for downstream business units.
Jan 1999-Feb 2000 Actuarial Sciences Associates (ASA) Greensboro, NC Contract Programmer	Pension 2000. ASA administers pension plans for companies like AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Worked on internal database and batch processing. This system runs on NCR UNIX and uses an Oracle database. Written with C++ and PL/SQL.
Sep 1998-Dec 1998 American Express Greensboro, NC Contract Programmer	Customer Focused Sales. Worked on an inbound telemarketing system to allow telephone service center representatives to sell additional products to card members who call in to American Express. This CFS application runs on SunOS (UNIX). Wrote C code to retrieve customer credit information from a mainframe computer using HLLAPI libraries.
1997 to 1998 Sara Lee Hosiery Winston-Salem, NC Technology Analyst	Worked on a team that rewrote the Order Fulfillment system. Old code using COBOL with C-ISAM files was re-written to use C++ and an Oracle database. The Order Fulfillment system is responsible for tracking all products ordered from the time the orders are received at a SLH distribution center to the time the product is actually shipped to the customer. The system also keeps track of billing and shipping information for transfer to other SLH systems. Worked with HP UNIX, Oracle SQL, and C++. Wrote stored procedures and worked on Oracle database optimization.
1994 to 1997 Eaton Corporation Winston-Salem, NC Product Development Engineer	Developed On-Board computer software for the Trucking Industry. Our main application is used to display and gather information about a driver's pickup and delivery route. It shows the driver what his schedule is and collects speed, mileage and other data in real-time throughout the day. A part of this software involves embedded systems that interface with the engine, brakes and hydraulic lift on the truck. The software is also able to send real-time messages to a dispatcher at a ground station system. This software is written in C++ and is developed on a PC running Windows '95 and runs on Eaton developed hardware under MS-DOS. The user interfaces to this system with a touch screen. Developed the Eaton OBC Software Development ToolBox.( This is a software development kit that allows customers who want to purchase Eaton's On-Board Computers to develop their own software. It is developed in C++ and distributed to customers as a library file.
1991-1994 Roadnet Technologies Inc. Timonium, MD Software Engineer	Developed Geographic Information Systems software for maintaining, editing, and printing maps. The GIS database at Roadnet is on a LAN of SUN SparcStation 10 machines running Solaris. The programming language used for these applications is a proprietary database language developed by Environmental Research Systems Institute. Developed software for the Delivery Information Acquisition Device and the DIAD Control System. The DCS is a system that uploads data from the DIAD's and sends the data to UPS mainframe computers. It runs on the OS/2 operating system and it is programmed in C and C++.
1990-1991 Worldwide Computer Systems; Gaithersburg, MD Consulting Engineer	Developed an Inventory Control system for Air Force bases. It is used to track telephone installations, repair calls, and inventory for on base communications. This system ran on an AT&T 3B2 computer running UNIX. The software is coded in C. It used a Unify 2000 database that had a proprietary language to create user interface screens.
1989-1990 A T & T Columbia, MD Independent Consultant	Developed a computer system for tracking loan payments. It scanned loan coupons and checks and then uploaded payment information to a mainframe computer. This system ran on an AT&T 3B2 computer running UNIX. The software was coded in C with embedded SQL and used an Oracle database. Developed a Telephony application for the Library of Congress that is used to order documents from a series of menus that narrows down the document choices for the customer. The system ran on a PC with a modified version of UNIX. The system is programmed in a proprietary language used exclusively for Telephony applications.

This is a not-for-profit project that launched in Aug 2000 and I maintain until June 2002 when I moved to Greenville, SC. The site runs on an Apache web server and utilizes HTML, PHP scripting and RealAudio/Video technologies.
