Wired News: "It was the Internet that spread the rumor that Hong Kong had been declared an 'infected city' due to the SARS outbreak, and it was text messaging that put an end to the hysteria that resulted."
There's just one thing I'm worried about. How did the government get cell phone numbers for all those people? That could be a dangerous precedent.
